About
Graiguenamanagh's Town of Books community festival began in 2003, and has grown each year. This charming medieval town is aiming to become Ireland's permanent Booktown in the near future (email us at info@booktownireland.com if you are interested in a shop!) Located at the foot of Brandon Hill, beside the river Barrow and looking across to the Blackstairs mountains, Graig has lots of outdoor beauty and pursuits to offer as well as the Book festival, Duiske Concerts, the Feile Freany traditional music festival, and more! (In the coming months we'll be developing a website to let you in on all Graiguenamanagh has to offer!) Graig is a town/village with a timeless feel, and by developing it into Ireland's Booktown, Graiguenamanagh will keep its special charm whilst still bringing in new jobs, & supporting current ones in this vibrant rural community. (Author's note: Graig has one of the best community spirits I've ever seen!) We are being kindly supported in this goal by KLP, the Kilkenny Leader Partnership, and we are part of the Kilkenny Community Festival network. Please consider visiting these other wonderful community festivals:
Freshford Conker Festival, Ballykeeffe Amphitheatre Festival, Abhainn Rí Festival, Inistioge Summer Festival, & the largest of us- the Savour Kilkenny Food Festival.
We'll be having an event or 2 here in Graiguenamanagh as part of the Savour Kilkenny Festival at the end of October, so follow our blog, Twitter or Facebook page to keep up to date. And Thank You so much for supporting our Town of Books- and please tell/share with your friends! Thanks!
